Home-made Honey | Vegan Honey | Bee-Free Honey Substitute Recipe

I am sharing two methods of making Home-made Honey, it tastes exactly like market bought Honey but fortunately no bees were harmed while making it. This is closest substitute which we can get of a vegan honey. While making this honey at home we are atleast aware of the ingredients which are being used. So without wasting any time lets jump into the recipe.

Directions-

  1. Heat a non-stick pot on medium-high flame, add Apple juice and sugar.
  2. While stirring bring it to a boil, once it boils up quickly turn the heat to Low/sim until bubbles settle down.
  3. Again turn the heat back to medium, add lemon juice and let it cook for 20 to 30 minutes or till the honey has been reduced to half. Stir occasionally to prevent it from sticking or burning.
  4. After the honey has been reduced to half turn off the heat.
  5. Carefully pour the honey in a heat proof glass jar, at first the honey will appear running but it will slowly thicken at room temperature.
  6. After pouring it in jar allow it to cool down before placing the lid. Once it is cooled down place the lid on either leave it overnight or refrigerate for 4-5 hours.
  7. After the waiting time is over, check your honey if it is not as thick as you want it to be just simply pour it back to the pot and cook for another 5 to 10 minutes and repeat the cooling process.
