Ingredients

  • Green Garlic- 1/2 cup (roughly chopped)
  • Green Tomatoes- 5 (finely chopped)
  • Green Chilly- 2 (optional)  
  • Cumin seeds- 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds 1 tbsp
  • Asafoetida/Hing- Just a pinch
  • Coriander/Dhaniya powder- 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric/Haldi powder- 1/2 tbsp
  • Dried mango/Amchur powder- 2 tbsp
  • Honey- 3 to 4 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper powder- 1/2 tbsp
  • Oil- 2 tbsp
  • Lemon Juice- 1 lemon

Method

  1. Grind chopped garlic, green chilli and tomatoes with 1 cup of water in a food processor to a fine paste.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, mustard seeds and asafoetida and saute until seeds start crackling.
  3. Add the Chutney paste and cook on high flame for 10-12 minutes.
  4. Add coriander powder, turmeric, amchur powder, salt and cook for a minute. 
  5. Add black pepper, honey, lemon juice. Mix well. Cook for 5 mins.
  6. After 5 mins turn off the flame and let it cool at room temperature. 
  7. Once the Chutney is cool, store it in an air tight container.
