Ingredients-

  • Atta/Whole Wheat Flour- 1 cup
  • Powdered Sugar/Castor Sugar/Breakfast Sugar- 1/2 cup (you can increase the sugar if you want your Cookies to be on sweeter side)
  • Desi Ghee/Clarified Butter- 1/2 cup (Melted)
  • Salt- Just a pinch
  • Milk- 1/2 cup
  • Tutti Fruity/Choco Chips- 3 Tbsp (Optional)

Method-

  1. Take a bowl and mix all the ingredients ( Atta, Powdered Sugar, Salt, Ghee, Milk and Tutti Fruity, if using Choco chips add 1 Tbsp to the dough and keep rest for garnishing).
  2. Knead it and make a soft dough. (Do not knead it too much otherwise the dough will become very hard).
  3. Roll the whole dough in the shape of a log.
  4. Wrap the dough log in an aluminium foil and let it rest in refrigerator for 20 mins.
  5. After 20 mins remove the foil and cut it into round cookie shape pieces (thickness of the pieces should not exceed 1 cms).
  6. Take a pressure cooker, remove the whistle and rubber. Put salt to cover the base of cooker (2 cup).
  7. Switch on the flame cover the Cooker with lid and pre heat for 10 minutes.
  8. Grease the idli stands with ghee properly. Place the round biscuit pieces 1 in each column(if using Choco chips place them on each biscuit and press/push them gently) .
  9. Set the idli stand inside the cooker, cover the lid, cook it on low flame for 15 mins.
  10. After 15 mins take out the stand from pressure cooker and let it cool down at room temperature (please be careful with this step otherwise you might burn your hand)
  11. After the Cookies are cold demould them by using a knife and that's it your whole wheat cookies are ready.
  12. Store them in an air tight jar/container. 😊

Notes:

* you can use chopped nuts inspite of using Tutti Fruity.
* you can also replace sugar with honey, sugar free or gud (jaggery).
